The purpose of an operating system is that it uses 4 main things; Application, security, Components and user interface.

The application connects to the operating system with real time processing with an example being shazam which uses input using the phones microphone while processing information to give an output which is the song given out but to do that the operating system has to give information to layout a user interface giving the result of the song.

The Security connects to the operating system with real time processing with an example being for Norton Anti-virus which uses the input of the computer system which watches the files coming in or out and gives the real time processing information that the system is safe from any Trojans or viruses.

The Components connects to the operating system with real time processing with the example of the cpu which gives input of the information given by the computer to process and output to the operating system about the temperature of the cpu and if it gets too warm because of fan failure to instantly shut down everything.

The User interface is connected to the operating system with real time processing with the example of the News Application which gives out the input of a menu for people to choose specific news around the world and will give an output new information about the latest news around the world.

Batch Processing is the process of multiple pieces of data executed to do a series of jobs,All of batch processing input parameters are predefined through scripts, command-line arguments, control files, or job control language.
